Then Bhole Nath was pleased and said that I will always sit in the form of this Shivling. Banasura was happy and took the Shivling with him. And started worshiping him by making him sit on a mountain named Amarkantak.
Once this Shivling fell from the mountain and started flowing in the river. The river in which it started flowing was Narmada river. Because only Mother Narmada has arrived from Amarkantak mountain. And the Shivling was brought by Banasura. That’s why it was named Banaling and because of flowing in Narmada, it is called Narmadeshwar Shivling.
Identification of original Narmadeshwar Shivling
All the stones obtained from the bottom of Maa Narmada are called Narmadeshwar Shivling. Because Maa Narmada is blessed by Lord Bholenath. That every pebble on your shore will be worshiped in the form of Shiv Shankar.
